On 24 December 2025, I genuinely believed I had found my dream home in Thailand.After a relatively brief viewing of the property and discussions with the owner, I came away believing that the house had been well built and finished to a good standard. Based on what I had seen and been told, we made the decision to purchase the property.We returned on 17 June 2026 and, for the first time, had the opportunity to properly inspect the house without restriction or interruption.Unfortunately, it soon became clear that things were not quite as they had appeared.Since taking possession, we have discovered a growing list of problems, some minor and others far more serious. These have ranged from extremely poor and concerning electrical work to underground water leaks, including a leak significant enough to cause the water pump to activate approximately every 3 minutes and 50 seconds.What we initially thought would be our dream home has therefore turned into a considerable renovation and rectification project, involving far more work and expense than we could ever have anticipated.This video documents the property and some of the issues we have discovered since taking possession. I intend to record the work required to investigate, repair and improve the house as we gradually work towards turning it into the home we originally believed we were buying.Despite the disappointment, we remain determined to put things right and hopefully, in time, transform the property into the home we had originally dreamed of.
